A. Processing Parameters Description


Cryogenic deflashing/deburring process has six main parameters, temperature, wheel speed, barrel speed, and processing time, media size and quantity.

Temperature: The cooling temperature to freeze the flashes.

Wheel speed: Decide the power shot on the flashes with media.

Barrel speed: The tumbling speed of the barrel to keep all the parts be blasted.

Processing time: Processing time depends on the processing result and quantity of the parts. 

Media size: 0.5 0.8 1.0 1.2 and 1.5mm, each one has different power.

Quantity: The number of parts can be processed.

We always use these 6 parameters to describe the right processing parameter and adjust gradually to find a best one.

Cryogenic deflashing is a process for removing flash from molded rubber parts. We use liquid nitrogen, high-speed rotation and shot blasted plastic media in varying combinations to remove the flash in a highly precise, economical and expedient manner.

Parts that have thin flash can be quickly and thoroughly cryogenically deflashed. This process is exceptionally good at removing the inner dimensional and complex flash that cannot be removed by any other method.


2. What is main composition of a cryogenic deflashing machine?

A typical cryogenic deflashing machine consists of a stainless-steel cabinet insulated with dense polyurethane foam. Located inside the cabinet are the blast motor, the liquid nitrogen nozzle, and the opening for the throw wheel. Under the chamber there is a vibrator for separation. And electrical controls including inverter, PLC, relays to control the blasting motor and gear motor. Besides, a barrel with a gear box to swing or tumbling is also important for nitrogen deflashing.
